Château Haut Segottes

Our history

Since 1850, 4 generations have succeeded one another and the family tradition has continued on this estate located in the heart of the Saint-Emilion vineyards.

Château Haut Segottes

A passion, a challenge

Danielle Meunier took over the estate in 1972 with passion and dedication.

She grew up on the estate and, from an early age, took part in the work in the vineyard. At the time of the handover, and against a backdrop of technical challenges for a woman in the wine world, a chain of solidarity was created around her.

Firstly, her family, who supported her in this technical and economic challenge, but also the technicians and cellar masters of Saint-Emilion.

It was the estate’s oenologist at the time who actually helped her open the doors to this male-dominated world and passed on to her the know-how of winemaking.

Perseverance and sensitivity

It is with perseverance and resilience that Danielle Meunier continues to write the history of the estate.

Her family tradition of observation and sensitivity to nature guides her daily work on the estate. The improvement in the quality of the wines produced, combined with the great potential the terroir of the plots underpins its determination and offers commercial opportunities that make the wine shine.

Due to a constant concern for technical improvement in harmony with nature and the terroir,
The estate’s wines have won over a very loyal clientele.
Today, Danielle Meunier is supported by a team of 8 caring and passionate people, not forgetting the swallows that have also made this magnificent estate their home for many years.
